Your Opinion Please!

Well I have been knee deep in wedding invites! My best friend's daughter is getting married this April at the beach so we have been designing like crazy. I have this problem when I am working on something I think it is great! Six month's later I look at something I made and wonder what was I thinking? So I am asking for input or as I ask my students when we are having a critique what would you do differently?

Well you asked for it!

Several folks who received these candles for Christmas asked for instructions so here they are! This is my first tutorial!

What a wonderful Christmas I have had! I received so many wonderful gifts among them a cuttlebug embossing machine. I have been drooling over one since I saw many wonderful cards made with the machine. Tomorrow I go out in search of the elusive folders that are part of the process. Hope Michael's has some or I may need to order over the internet prolonging the wait!!

Three peaceful wishes

I was in a Peaceful wishes mood so I made three different cards with the same layout I don't think I will ever get tired of this set! I am using my new Leaves a la carte wheel love it is so versatile.



Card one I used

Stamps: Peaceful wishes, leaves a la carte wheel, Canvas
Paper: Always artichoke, cranberry crisp, very vanilla
Ink: Always artichoke, old olive, cranberry crisp, Gold
Accessories: Brad


Card two I used

Stamps: Peaceful wishes, leaves a la carte wheel, Canvas
Paper: Always artichoke, Sahara sand, Eggplant Envy
Ink: Always artichoke, old olive,
Accessories: Brad


Card three I used

UHU review

A few weeks ago when surfing blogs I came across a site that was giving out glue to folks who would be willing to review the products. Well I was so excited I quickly E-mailed Maria Filosa a blogger who is sending out the UHU products. I promptly received some UHU Glues to try out. Because I am a school teacher Maria sent me some extra products as well. So I will give you my 2 cents worth

Glue sticks - I love these and use them every day in the classroom they are versatile and work quickly.

Monoadhesive - I love the way it rolls on it is much better than tombow. My only complaint is that it does not have the stickiness of tombow.

Glue pen - I absolutely love this product. It glides on quickly and evenly and because of its tip it is easy to spread. What I like about it is it adheres very tightly though it does need some weight to keep it down. I find it much stronger and I am switching to this instead of tombow which I have used for some time. December projects for workshop!

I am in a carte postale mood! Above is a picture of our workshop projects for this month! December specials are below

Directions will be posted on the website/blog Tuesday December 12th. We will start at 3:15 PM in the art room at the high school. Directions to the high school . Please bring a white pillar candle for the project, I found them at the dollar store.

If you can read this you are invited! If you are a stamp ten member Please remember to order by Tuesday so we can close the workshop By Wednesday!

For those of you following the website/blog I have posted the directions for the Christmas card I made for the swap. I will be creating a slide show of all the wonderful cards I received.

If you have never done a swap it is great. You gather a group of stampers, each of us makes enough cards for all participants then we trade. We all get a beautiful card and it is a great way to see how others work. It is also a good way to improve your stamping skills. We are planning another swap this February if you are interested Please let me know!

Card for a swap

This is the card I am doing for a swap tomorrow at school. I can't wait to see what all the other cards look like it is so much fun!I don't seem to get tired of this set.

First of all thanks so much for all your kind remarks regarding this card. Many of you have asked me how I made this card so here are the instructions.

I cut Brushed Gold Paper

4 ¼ X 5 ½
3 ¾ X 3
3 X 2 ½

I cut Very Vanilla Paper

3 ¼ x 2 ½
2 ½ x 2

I cut Cranberry Crisp Paper

3 ½ X 2 ¾
2 ¾ X 2 ¼

I cut Always Artichoke Paper

4 X 5 ¼


Process

1. I started by stamping with the Peaceful wishes set.
2. I used the pine bough stamp and Always Artichoke Ink on the Always Artichoke paper.
3. Next I used the canvas stamp and inked it with Cranberry Crisp ink and stamped on all the cranberry paper.
4. Next I inked the berry stamp with always artichoke ink and stamped it on the smallest Very Vanilla paperall overnd then allover the larger Very Vanilla paper.
5. I then inked a blender pen with cranberry crisp refill ink and then painted over berries in small card.
6. I assembled all the smaller sets and before putting together the large background set I wrapped the ribbon between Always artichoke and the Brushed Gold paper.
7. Lastly I assembled all the layers leaving enough room for the peaceful wishes sentiment at the bottom stamped in Gold Encore Pad
