An older card

Image
Ok I spent the weekend in New York City visiting my sons! I had so much fun and spent way tooo much money! So today’s post is an older card. Laura does this one look familiar! As I look at my card I see things I would do differently but I love this process. The technique would be great with lots of different stamp sets! The concept is based on an art idea. Three canvas put together to create a painting called a triptych. I suspect the first artist who created a triptych was probably influenced by Japanese screens. Ok I can't help this I teach art! What I love about this technique is that it is done with address labels! That’s right address labels. The process is simple stamp tree design from Lovely as a tree with “ Timber Brown Stazon ” (that’s the first thing I would do differently). Make sure stamping is done on three address labels with backing still on. Then using the Watercolor Crayons color tree and backgrounds. When dry peel back half way all three labels. Attach to Al...

“ Lovely as a Tree ” is one of my all time favorite sets. I seem to always be finding ways to use this set. I was inspired by a card I saw on splitcoaststampers and I wanted to share it with you. The green reminds me of spring! Papers very vanilla 4 x 5 ¼ and 2 x 1 ¾ always artichoke 2 ½ X 3 and 4 ¼ X 5 ½ certainly celery 2 ¼ X 2 Inks old olive ink Stamps Lovely as a Tree Itty Bitty Backgrounds Accessories Gold Cord Sponge Daubers To make this card I stamped the oak tree using old olive ink on the small very vanilla paper. I also stamped on a larger very vanilla card stock with old olive ink and the leaf stamps from this set. I then used Itty Bitty Backgrounds to add to the background of both images. Lastly I used Sponge Daubers to darken and age the very vanilla card stock I use everyday flexible phrase to stamp imaging in the lower right hand corner. And wrapped Gold Cord around the always artichoke, I then assembled the card using double sided adhesive.

Fairy Jars

Image
Well several of you were curious about the decorations for the shower I put on this weekend. I was obsessed with the decorations and I have some pictures and closeups of the head table display. My plan was to take images of the bride at various ages. Then to alter them to make her look like a fairy. Then to place them in jars so it looked like a "captured moment". I know it's hokey but I was totally into it. It was very fun especially decorating the tops of the jars. I then assembled them with the largest in the middle and going down in size. The idea was not my, own I saw something like this in a magazine, except it was only individual jars. Hope you enjoy! I had a lot of fun making it! Just in case you can't see the images from this site check out this link http://3163337728.slide.com/p/5/untitled?view=large thanks V
