This week the challenge at Late night stampers is a color challenge. The colors are Chocolate chip, Kraft, Ruby Red, Old olive. I was not to sure about the colors but after working with them I was happy with a few of my cards. This week will be a short week for posting for me as I have my annual art show for my students they are SO excited! Here is my first card you may remember this card from last November but it really fits this weeks challenge so I thought I would include it. This card uses a technique called thumping. it gives the trees a multi colored look. A very easy technique. Start by inking the stamp with a light color. Then using a stampin write marker you take the lightest color first and hold the marker between your finger and thumb and thump the marker back and forth all over the tree limb area. Continue the process with all the markers till you are happy huff and stamp! Thanks for stopping by Virginia

Circles this week

This week over at Late night stampers the challenge I am designing for is all about circles! Well I really got in gear this week and have several projects to share with you the first one is this cute little gift bag. I have seen the instructions on several blogs and wanted to make my own.So I will show you the instructions I first saw on Splitcoast but I made some adjustments so I can better utilize paper! Here is the tutorial from Splitcoaststampers

In an effort to save paper with a few changes to some of the measurements. I got the idea from
from 321 stamp's blog Theses are her instructions I am sharing with you. Here is what you will change;
  • Start with a 4 1/4" card stock square for the box
  • Score 7/8" from each of the 4 edges (that's INSTEAD OF the 1" in Diana's version)
  • Also adjust the size of the printed Designer Series Paper that's wrapped around the box to make the bag. Mine is 6" by 10 1/2".
  • Lastly I adjusted the size of the strip that's around the bottom of the box/bag. Mine started as 1 1/4" by 10 1/2" and then one long edge was punched with SU's Scallop Border Punch (item # 112091) which then makes it a little narrower.
