Card

I fell in love with tres chic the first time I used it. this card is so easy to make and can be changed according to the sentiment you want! I have used the Sale A bration set and carte postale set to create my own personal flower design. Using the scallops set from the sale-a-bration catalog and punches you can mix and match sets!

Stamp sets - Tres chic, So many scallops, Carte postale
Paper - Whisper White, Blue bayou, Soft sky
Ink - Blue Bayou
Accessories - Scallop, 1 3/8", 1" punches, Night of Navy Stampin write marker, Brayer
The card is made by first inking tres chick background stamp with ink.To get really good coverage I lay the stamp down on it's back and place paper on top. Securing the paper in place with one hand I used the brayer to evenly roll one half and then switch to do the other side.
One great way to distinguish a special word from the background is to before placing paper on top of stamp ink selected word with stampin write marker don't forget to huff.
Using Blue bayou ink stamp sentiment and scallop choices on whisper white scraps. punch and assemble cut a small strip of soft sky and assemble everything on whisper white card stock
Thanks for looking

This is at least the third or fourth time I've been tagged I swore I would not play but.

This afternoon Jackie Wright from jackie stamps 4 fun tagged me! So here goes:

1. Stamping Style: I love Collage style and I love any new technique!
2. Inspiration: There is so much talent on the Internet! (see blogs on the right side!) but Laura Currie is my most favorite she is always willing to lend an ear and is the best upline!
3. Color: I definitely love the new in colors. I’ll miss River Rock and purley pomegranette the most
4. Work Space: My former doll studio in my basment it is so nice and cool in the summer!
Perfect Day: In my stamp room, hubby in the yard mowing, Dinner with friends and family
6. Wildest Dream: I'm living it!

10. Biggest Challenge: Loosing weight it still alludes me but I keep trying!
So now I will tag Laura and Susan.

Dahlia fold

I made this card using a technique called Dahlia fold. It is all the rage on Splitcoaststampers, I am not sure who started it but is is soooo easy! The technique is described on this website. Can you believe it is made from just 8 circles punched out of designer series paper!

Stamps Tres Chic

Papers Ginger blossom Designer series paper, always artichoke, groovy guava, river rock

Accessories Crimper , oval punch, ! 3/8 circle punch, build-a-brad

Inks river rock, always artichoke, purely pomegranate

Last one really!

This card was made by Michelle Gazdik the other art teacher at my school. It is so fun having another person who loves art as much as I do. You can see it in her work here. Michelle worked with a tight color scheme and the harmonies sing. I love the loose quality of the watercolor flower and the over stamping pulls it all together. Michelle used the heartfelt stamp set, chocolate chip paper and wintergreen papers. Thanks for sharing Michelle

One more

This Card was made by Paula Harty. Everyone wanted to know how she made her background and she was kind enough to share with me. She used fine lace. She used chocolate chip on a gold vellum. it made such a beautiful background. Paula then she embossed in gold using kanji stamp set on green squares and used crinkle cut scissors for a finishing touch thanks all of you for sharing I have enjoyed learning from all of you! Thanks for looking Virginia

Swap

This card is by my dear Friend Pat Stepanek She has joined in the fun even though she does not stamp. She is a photographer and uses her computer to create cards. She is a history buff and makes wonderful cards that she sells in Gettysburg. She is a marvelous Calligrapher.
I love the color blocking and the simplicity of card. I also love the embossed that centers and shows off the design Thanks for sharing Pat

Another Swap

This card is made by Sheryl Welch. She is so great at coloring in her images. I have shown her work before because of her great flair for color. You can't see this bu the inside of this card has a wonderful image also. Thanks so much for sharing Sheryl!

Swaps!

The next card up is Kathie Hurn's. She did a take off on a card I showed a few weeks ago. The frown has been turned into a smile. I love the color combinations. the polka dots in the background complement the polka dots in the nose. Such a cute card. Thanks for sharing Kathie!

Still another

Wow this card is so cute! Jill has used great color combos with pink and brown. But the best part is inside. Jill created a mini envelope with a secret message inside she is so creative I have been lucky enough to get some of her wonderful theorems! Thanks for sharing with us Jill! Virginia

Another swap!

This card is by Euphemia Gallipeau! I love the mulberry section at the bottom, this card has wonderful balance and symmetry. Her color scheme is well worked out and the ribbon ads a nice touch thanks for sharing Euphemia Virginia

Great Swaps!

I recently swapped cards with a great bunch of Friends where I work. So I thought I would share their work with you this week! First up is Mary Ann Magan. She is the leader of the swap and i was impressed with her color choices for this card. very elegant and clean. I am not sure what kind of paper she used but I recognize the Martha Stewart ribbon. The rounded corners are a nice touch. Thanks for looking Virginia

Peony

I have been anxiously awaiting Stampin'up's new peony set. I just love the look of this set and couldn't wait to get my hands on it! Friday was a snow day Yippee nothing like a day with no set schedule. So I spent the morning mounting this set and was able to make a card with it this weekend. My latest Stamping Success a magazine for stampin up Demonstrators had a wonderful technique. The technique showed how to use your stamp -a-ma-jig to set the rubber on the wood for perfect registration every time. It was a bit tricky but the extra time was well worth it. Pretty peony is a two step stamping set. When using theses sets it can sometimes be hard to perfectly register the stamp(that means line up both sets in art talk). Using the stamp-a-ma-jig to set the rubber perfectly lines up both stamps, which speeds up the stamping! I will be giving all my customers a copy of this tutorial with any stampin-a-ma-jig purchase! Here are the instructions
Card
Paper -Rose Red, Whisper White, River Rock, Rose red Designer series paper
Ink - All Craft Ink Rose Red, Regal Rose,Mellow Moss, Certainly Celery, River Rock Classic
Stamps - Pretty Peony, Carte Postale, Tres chic.
Accessories - Stamping Dimensional, Moss Check ribbon, Punches oval both large and small and ticket corner.
Process
Ink Tres chic stamp with River rock ink and set face up on table. Place piece of river rock paper on the stamp, then using brayer roll over paper to make impression.
Using craft ink and a stamping-a-ma-jig stamp flower and leaves on a piece of whisper white card stock and the smaller flower on a scrap. When dry use a dauber and darken edges with river rock classic ink. I use the lighter color for the bottom stamp and the darker color for the accent. if you use your stamping-a-ma-jig to set your stamp this part should be very easy!
Stamp sentiment on a scrap of river Rock using rose red and punch out with small oval. Punch a larger oval from a scrap of rose red. adhere together and set aside.
Cut an accent piece from the designer series paper in rose red and using ticket punch punch the four corners of the 3 layers of the card separately.
Cut out small flower and using stamping Dimensional adhere them to the back of flower. Assemble card and tie ribbon to the front and adhere to card stock. thanks for looking! Virginia
